Amhuinnsuidhe Castle Estate
Amhuinnsuidhe Castle is situated in a stunning and romantic seaside location with views to South Harris and the islands beyond and is world famous for its sea trout and salmon fishing.
The name Amhuinnsuidhe is the Gaelic for sitting by the river and, indeed, one of the fishing rivers enters the sea next to the Castle. The Castle has its own hillside gardens and is surrounded by 55,000 glorious acres of Trust-owned land designated under European legislation for its plant and bird life, and a paradise of steep hills and sea cliffs, white sand beaches and turquoise seas, remote glens and lochs.
Designed in the Scottish Baronial style by the architect David Bryce and built in 1865 for the 7th Earl of Dunmore, the Castle now functions as a prestigious venue for exclusive incentives.
