Chatelherault
Chatelherault is the beautiful Georgian Hunting Lodge, designed and built by Wm. Adam in 1732 for James, 5th Duke of Hamilton. A combination of dog kennels, hunting lodge and a little summer palace. It is one of Scotland's most important landscape buildings. Chatelherault's unusual pink sandstone facade makes it an instantly recognisable local landmark It enjoys panoramic views of the town, the Clyde Valley and, on a clear day, Ben Lomond. Chatelherault feels like a tranquil country retreat, even although it is close to the M74 and within minutes of Hamilton.
