Pollok House
Capture the flavour of one of Scotland`s grandest Edwardian country houses.
Set amid a formal walled garden, it`s difficult to believe that this eighteenth-century house is just a few miles from the centre of Glasgow. Upstairs the luxurious furnishings of this stunningly elegant venue will delight you. Each room is superbly different and bursting with character. You`ll find paintings by El Greco, Blake and Murillo to name but a few. The Pavilion Library with its famous El Greco masterpiece is a versatile space for concerts, presentations, ceremonies and drinks receptions for 100, while the dining room offers spacious and elegant surroundings for dinner for 60 guests.
Each room revels in its own atmosphere in this `upstairs/downstairs` design.
The grand Entrance Hall links `upstairs and downstairs`: in the basement you will find the fascinating servants` quarters. One of the most interesting areas of Pollok House, this floor is perfect for a more informal occasion. The Edwardian Kitchen Restaurant is located at the end of the corridor and can be transformed to offer a memorable evening in a very special style. Adjoining the 60 seater restaurant is a pretty courtyard where an additional 30 guests can be accommodated for dining. Because each room in Pollok House is so different, you can be sure of a truly unique experience.
