Scotland Street School Museum
This is a fine, yet little known, example of Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s architecture. Here you are able to see his clean lines, rose embellishments and positive use of space. This wonderful venue is not only beautiful to behold, but was a working school and can now be used by corporate clients as an experiential venue in which to meet for dining, evening meetings, receptions. The Conference Room, modern Audio Visual Room and the Thistle Room can all be used to hold smaller day meetings. The drill hall is most suitable for small dinner parties and gatherings of import or fun. Medium sized receptions make use of this hall and the surrounding stairwells, corridors and balcony that overlooks this area. The stairwell itself is an impressive illustration of the famous designer/architect’s appreciation and understanding of natural light and line – it is ideal position for drinks’ service and entertainers.
