DRIVER'S HOURS OF WORK - THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW
Please note that this guide is intended to be a summary of the rules as they apply to your intended coach charter. Please contact us if you require clarification on any point.
Driving Hours
A driver may drive for a maximum of 9 hours per day. They must take a break of 45 minutes, away from the coach, after driving for a period of 4½ hours. The maximum amount of driving time in one week is 56 hours and in two weeks 90 hours.

The minimum rest period, between two shifts of work, is 11 hours (this means a maximum working day of 13 hours during which the driver may drive for a maximum of 9 hours).
Two drivers working together on the same vehicle on the same journey will have an extended working day of 21 hours, however each driver may only drive for a maximum of 9 hours each.
Weekly Rest
A driver may work for a maximum of 6 days after which they must take a weekly rest break of 45 hours.
Note: If you are in any doubt that your proposed itinerary can be operated within the framework of these rules and regulations then we recommend that you contact us to discuss your requirements. We will be happy to provide you with advice on how your journey can be operated within the law. Please note that our adherence to the law is absolute. Our drivers have no latitude on compliance matters.
